Rich Jones
Hi, I got into writing because I had stories in my mind that wanted to escape and flourish.
I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, my father being in the American oil business. I grew up immersed in both the South American and U.S. culture and geopolitics. At age 15, I left to attend boarding school in New England for my high school education. While at school, I became interested in flying and received my private pilot’s license when I was 16. I went on to attend Duke University, and later I earned a doctorate in dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.
Subsequently, I lived in San Diego for 14 years with my wife and two children before moving to Austin, Texas. After 41 years of practice, I retired and am pursuing my novel writing and abstract art endeavors.
I began writing the Operation Guardian Angel series many years ago when I had time available from my other pursuits. I am avid student of world and military history. My abstract art paintings are on display at richjonesart.com.
